Who Am I?
Emmanuel Hele is a lifelong artist with a background in the traditional visual mediums; drawing, painting, and sculpture. He began his professional tattoo career in 2010, and spent his first decade working in tattoo parlors in Portland’s inner East Side. During that time, he worked alongside many talented artist and gained a wealth of knowledge of tattoo styles and techniques, business practices, and medical protocols.
In 2022, he founded Tumbleweed Tattoo - a private, off-street custom practice dedicated to providing a more mindful and individualized tattoo experience. Free from the fast-fashion mentality of mainstream tattoo culture, his approach blends insight, experience, artistic mastery, deep collaboration, and a commitment to creating beautiful tattoos that are as meaningful as they are enduring.
